I enjoyed my first weekend back in America with my 2 daughters. Breanne is 14 and almost as tall as I am. Michaella will be 12 in a couple of weeks. They are doing well and are beautiful young Christian ladies.<br /><br />I left Florida on Tuesday and headed to Tuscaloosa, AL to be with my sponsoring church for services on Wednesday. I also saw some old friends...Butch and Nancy Roshto, along with Jeff and Shari Gilbert and their 3 girls. It was good to see everyone again.<br /><br />Friday, I travelled to Wiggins, MS. Ebenezer BC has supported my work since 1999 and I have many good friends there...including George Pennell who is faithful to check my journal for new entries...and tells me about it when they are not there. Anyway...it was good to see him along with Brother and Sister Rogers, Dave and Ladonna and the rest of Ebenezer church.<br /><br />I am in Pensacola right now. I will be here until the 21st preaching, preaching, preaching. <br /><br />I know this is a bit short...but I promised George I would be better at posting. <br /><br />Much love,<br />Eddie

In your good article Racism you wrote, The issue of eaiigelvzatnon ought not to be who' but how many.' I do agree with that wholeheartedly. God doesn't look at the outward appearance and he would like for everyone to be saved. However, it is easy for us to either stick with one's own kind or even forget about one's own kind while trying to focus on those who are different. If only we could see each soul as an individual, that would help in fighting racism. We shouldn't try to win the souls of those different than oneself OR the same as oneself SPECIFICALLY because of their outward appearance, but we should try to teach everyone with whom we come into contact. We should spread out of our own circles (and that may mean sometimes going among those who look different), but we should keep our eyes wide open for any lost souls we may find along the way, whoever they may be.

Scott,Thanks for your thoughtful aysanlis. I wanted to let you know that I do not think having Black churches and White Churches are inherently sinful and evidences of racism. Some are a result of racism, but they cannot all be attributed to that.However, we must remember that while they may exist today because of circumstances or choice, there may have been a racial component in the past. I preached at a congregation in a city that was mostly all Black and the congregation was all White. Decades before, the man who started the congregation would stand at the door and not allow Blacks to enter. Fifty years later, the congregation still had that reputation hanging over its head with some. It was sad that the label persisted.We can say everyone is welcome but that is not the same thing as the community realizing that we really mean it.Thanks again for your comments!

, every Sunday, we have a young boy of a mixed race who lives with his aunt and uncle, A Naturalized US citizen who is a ntvaie of Pakistan and is Muslim by faith his fair skinned red-headed wife who is a Christian and their adopted school-aged African-American little girl who brightens every room she enters. Can't we just remember the song, Red, yellow, black, and white; they are precious in His sight. Jesus loves the little children of the world.
